Stour Valley Fishing Complex is a unique complex of 2 lakes in the heart of Kent (Chilham) offering superb Specimen Carp Fishing. Our superb venue features 2 mature lakes set in the picturesque Kent countryside near Chilham. Situated just of the A28 Canterbury to Ashford road. We offer Specimen Carp in a well maintained and comfortable environment.
We cater for either short or long stay Carp anglers.

General Rules

All anglers must without fail adhere to the departure times of they're bookings. Overstaying your time holds up on coming anglers,think if your the one coming on and can't due to anglers holding up swims.  This situation will no longer be tolerated. This could incur penalties. 
Guest are not permitted on the complex unless booked on in advance by the angler and arrive with the angler by prior arrangements with the management. Guest are also subject to the same basic rules as the angler and if they wish to leave they must do this by closing time. No later.  Otherwise this may incur penalties. 1 guest per angler and you must book them on over the phone.
Anglers must be 16 years of age or over on both lake. No under 16's allowed to fish. 1 Guest per angler booked in advanced, no families, these are lake for angling not holidays and breaks. 
All deposits for reserving a space on our lakes are Non refundable. You cannot reserve a particular swim.
No drones without prior permission from our management. 

Rules

SPODS and SPOMBS are no longer permitted.
All nets, cradles, slings and other fish care equpiment must be dippedwhen you arriveon site and report to the office. You can not just turn up and fish.
 
  • All our baliifs and staff are voluntary and are here to help so please be polite to them as they are only doing their job. Please try to comply with any instruction they may give as this is for the good and benefit of all.
  • All anglers arriving before opening time must stay with their vechicles. At no times must a vehicle be left abandoned in front of the gate. These gate must be kept clear at all times in case of an emergencies. 
  • If at any time you need to leave the complex during the day be sure to return before closing time as you run the risk of not getting your vehicle back in and will be asked to leave it outside until we open in the morning. 
  • Opening and closing time will vary depending on the tmes of the year. Please check our facbook page or ask a baliif.
  • All anglers to report to site office or locate the on-site bailiff.
  • Once at your swim there is to be no driving around the complex.
  • Please be aware that some of our swims are classed as doubles and at busy times need to be used as such. These swims include peg 4,10/11 and 12/13. Please check with a bailiff first.
  • Please be aware that swims 8 and 9 are designated for disabled anglers, so please check with a bailiff first.
  • No litter to be left or discarded on site or over the railway line. Anyone disregarding this rule will be asked to leave and given a life ban. If caught throwing rubbish over the railway line it will render you liable to a fine as you will be reported to network rail, this could be anything up to £100,000 fine. All litter must be taken away with you.
  • Drink and all other social activities to be kept to a minimum.
  • Noise is to be kept to a minimum.
  • Lights to be kept to a minimum, head torches, bivvy lights and additional lighting for photographic purpose only. No high powered lamps to be used.
  • Dogs are not permitted on the fishery.
  • No trees/bushes to be cut or damaged, if needed please see a baliff.
  • Boats are not to be used by customers, if a fish is snagged please see a bailiif. Please be aware that these boats will not be used at night time.
  • Toilet facilities are provided for your use so please leave clean and tidy.Please also close the door after use.
  • At no time are anglers to bring airguns of any discription onto the fishery.
  • Please keep yourselves updated with our rules as these can be amended,added or remove at any time.
  • If you have a lake booking we recommend you have a bailiff on site incase of an emergency. 

General fishing rules 

  • All angers to be in possession of a valid EA fishing licence.
  • Rods must be attended at all times whilst fishing, remember you should not be more than 3m away from your rods.
  • No more than 3 rods to be used at any one time. 
  • When doubling up in a swim anglers can only use 2 rods each. 
  • Barbed or micro barbed hooks only to be used. 
  • Please have in your possession all appropriate unhooking tools and carp care kits.
  • No leadcore or leaders of any kind to be used on our fishery.
  • No zigs to be used at any time.
  • No braided mainline to be used.
  • All particles are banned.
  • 15lb minimum line strength to be used.
  • All anglers must have in the possession appropriate sized unhooking mat/cradle and a 42in landing net when fishing our lakes.
  • Carp sacks are banned and must not be brought our fishery. Carp can be retained in a landing net or weigh/recovery sling in the water for weighing and photographic purpose.
  • Use of keepnets to be used for match fishing only with prior consent from fishery management. No carp to be put or kept in these nets. Keepnets can only be used on Reed lake, Blue lagoon and our match lake.
  • All fish must be returned to the water as soon as possible and at no time transferred to any other water. Please report all dead fish to a member of staff.

Pike fishing rules

  • All pike anglers must report to a bailiff before commencing fishing.
  • No live bait to be brought onto the fishery at any time. 
  • Live baiting is permitted and must be caught o site.
  • Again, a maximum of 3 rods to be used at any one time.
  • Minimum 30lb braid to be used at any time.
  • 30lb wire traces to used at all times, lighter traces can be used for perch fishing.
  • Minimum trace length to be used is 18in
  • Semi barbed trebles to be used.
  • No gags, gaff or oga grips to be used.
  • All anglers must have in their possession appropriate sized landing nets unhooking tools i.e - Long forceps, long handled wire cutters, long nosed pliers and deep throat disgorgers.
